We recommend keeping information sent over SMS to pertinent information. However, sometimes you might you go over the 160 character limit per message, resulting in multiple messages unless reassembled by mobile carrier.

If the body of a message is more than 160 characters (including any dynamic data and the footer), Engage will segment and annotate your messages to attempt proper reassembly on the subscriber's handset (this is currently not supported by all carriers and handsets). If a mobile carrier does not support concatenated messages, you can still send long SMS to recipients on that carrier. Engage will divide your long message into individual messages to meet the character limit, and automatically add page information to the beginning of each one, for example (1/2), (2/2).

When reviewing SMS reporting, all concatenated messages will be recorded as one.
