Engage v.7.3 Release Notes

The release of Engage version 7.3 includes numerous improvements to Newsletter functions to make it easier for you to fine-tune your communications to your needs.

Edit Mode

The new Edit Mode function (accessible from the Newsletter Draft Review screen) allows you to swap out articles in a Newsletter yourself, rather than needing to put in a request for Questline staff to modify it.

You can search for replacement articles across the entire library of articles available on your account, preview articles, and replace articles in the current Draft with others you choose!

Engage will notify you if the article you're replacing exists in other Newsletters that month, and give you the choice to put your replacement only in one Newsletter or all of them.

You'll even be able to see when a potential replacement article was last used, and if it's used in future Newsletters of the same Content Subscription as the current one.

Newsletter HTML Download

With this release, you can download the HTML of a Newsletter from the Newsletter Draft screen before it is sent out, and from the Reporting / View Message screen after it has been sent.

Newsletter Active Subscribers download

The Newsletter Draft screen now allows you to view the number of active (not suppressed or opted out) subscribers attached to the Newsletter Campaign.

Additionally, you can download the entire list of active subscribers from this screen.

Apart from these additions, we've made additional fixes and user interface improvements to make your experience with Engage smoother and more productive!

If you’d like the detailed view of this release’s changes, read on for specifics.

Engage v.7.3 Release Details

Additions

  • Newsletter Snippets set on a Newsletter Campaign or Newsletter Send, or both, will now appear on Newsletter Article webpages.
  • A new Edit Mode function has been added to Newsletter Drafts.
    • Newsletter Editors can choose to replace Articles in a Newsletter draft themselves, rather than putting in a modification request.
    • This function includes a search dialog to allow users to search for Articles from the client Content Library.
    • This search pulls articles from all Content Subscriptions on the client account, not merely those of the type the Newsletter Draft is set to.
    • The search will also pull in any custom articles made or modified for the client.
    • Articles will display in the search results as they would in a Newsletter email.
    • Users may preview articles found in the search, viewing them in a new tab as they would appear when accessed from a Newsletter email.
    • The search tool displays a notification on any article that is also used in upcoming drafts of the same Content Subscription (Electric Residential, Natural Gas Business, etc.) as the current Newsletter Draft, noting which Newsletter(s) the article is also used in.
    • If an Article was previously used in a Newsletter for the client account,
    • When choosing to replace an article, the user will be notified if the article exists in other Newsletters in other Campaigns that month using the exact same Draft and sharing a Newsletter Subscription type (Electric Residential, Natural Gas Business, etc.).
    • If the article being replaced does exist in other Newsletters meeting this criteria, the user may choose to replace the article with the new choice in either only the current article, or all matching articles.
  • Newsletter Editors can now download a list of all currently active (not opted, suppressed, or deleted) subscribers on a Newsletter Campaign from the Draft Review page of any Newsletter in Draft status. The user will be able to see the number of active Subscribers before downloading the file. If no subscribers are attached, this function is not available.
  • Users can now download the HTML of a Newsletter from either the Draft Review page or the Reporting/View Message page for the Newsletter send. If dynamic text exists in the Newsletter, a dummy subscriber will be used to fill in the dynamic information.
