- The database stored procedure that processes incoming events was changed such that the three bounce types we receive from SendGrid would be mapped to our bounce types like so:
- “Bounce” -> “HardBounce”
- “Blocked” -> “OtherBounce”
- “Expired” -> “SoftBounce”
- Code was added to the same stored procedure to update user records and mark them as suppressed whenever a “HardBounce” event is recorded. All existing bounce records in the database were updated to use the mapping above, and all users for whom we had received a “HardBounce” event were suppressed.
